Urban Gypsy quartet
We combine the hot and passionate gypsy spirit with the jazz rhythms of the 30s-40s - we get a strange cocktail called the gypsy jazz or jazz manush.
The creator of this unique style is considered to be the guitarist Jean-Baptista Django Reinhardt, nicknamed “The Great Django”. Virtuoso guitar playing musician did not prevent either the lack of classical education, or a serious injury. Surprisingly, when playing “The Great Django” he managed with only two fingers of his left hand after he suffered during the fire.
Continuing the traditions of Django Reinhardt on the Ukrainian expanses is a talented team of Urban Gypsy. Two guitars, a violin and a double bass - in its composition are acoustic jazz-manouche acoustic stringed instruments.
Enough to enjoy the softness of the acoustic sound and at the same time the swing swing - you can do all this at Urban Gypsy concerts. Each of the band members is devoted to music and in love with jazz manush, but each in its own way. Therefore, the performances of Urban Gypsy are a mixture of various, sometimes unexpected emotions and experiences.
